Main features and project development

A 170MW Integrated Solar Combined Cycle (ISCC) plant

The plant configuration includes the following elements:

  • A solar field of aproximately 800,000 square meters with aluminium parabolic troughs,that will generate annually more than 1,000 GWh t.

 

  • A high performance power block, with a robust HRSG, combining a steam turbine of 68 MW with a gas turbine of 114 MW which uses as fuel Natural Gas (NG).

 

 

  • A molten salt thermal storage system capable of operating the steam turbine at full load for 12 hours after sunset

Development and construction/ Maximum terms

  • Feasibility study/ June 2013
  • Basic engineering project and financial model/ August 2013
  • Confidentiality agreement and letter of intent subscription rights for energy/ September 2013
  • Pre-contract or “Term sheet”/ January-February 2014
  • Detailed engineering and processing and administrative permits/ July 2014
  • PPA contract and financial closing/ November-December 2014
  • Construction start/March 2015

 

Operation

  • Start/ March-April 2017
  • Production of clean electricity/ 25 years

Total development, construction and supply 48 months
