The sun is a huge nuclear reactor at a distance of 150 million km from the earth, able to generate in only one second 760.000 times the energy consumed by the entire world population in one year.

Part of this energy being generated continuously by the sun reaches the earth's surface in the form of electromagnetic radiation. Still, this is very large amount of energy and in fact, solar energy is one of the most abundant resources in the world. Using CSP technology in some parts of the uninhabited deserts of North Africa, it could be possible to produce a multiple of the European electricity demand.
